Wear and Tear of Thermoplastic Parts
Northern Morocco is an important agricultural region, known for producing fruit and grapes. The latest agricultural techniques are used on large and medium-sized farms. Fertifield specializes in the manufacture and sale of agricultural machinery of all types and sizes. However, the intensive use of these machines inevitably leads to wear and tear. In addition to mechanical parts, many devices contain a high proportion of thermoplastics, for example in machine parts or spray agent containers.
The Challenge: Avoiding Short-Term Repairs
For years, Fertifield has been dealing with the problem of cracks and fractures in thermoplastic components impairing the operation of agricultural machinery. However, conventional repair methods, such as application of polyester, were insufficiently reliable and long-lasting. The repaired parts often had to be replaced again soon afterwards, which led to work stoppages and additional time and costs.
