Compared to the miniwelder roof2, the miniwelder roof3 is designed for a wider material thickness range of 0.3–1.5 millimeters, compared with 0.3–1.0 millimeters for the miniwelder roof2. It uses a narrower 34 millimeters hot wedge and is available with copper or stainless-steel heating wedges, both equipped with a test channel, whereas the roof2 heating wedges do not have a test channel. The roof3 also features a steel roller for more direct and rigid pressure transfer with higher mechanical grip. Together, these features make the roof3 particularly suitable for thicker materials, while the test-channel wedge design provides an additional benefit for weld inspection and quality control, especially where specific waterproofing requirements apply.
